Traffic Plan

We are largely a neighborhood school, with residential buildings around our property. We strongly encourage students to walk or bike to school when possible to help reduce the traffic congestion and to help keep the parking lot and streets around Chávez safer. We understand that some families choose to drive their child to school. If so, you may drop off starting at  8:10 AM and pick up at 3:20 PM (2:00 PM on Mondays). Please keep the following safety measures and parking rules in mind:

  • Students MUST use the crosswalk with the crossing guard when crossing the street on Maple Grove Drive
  • The northside parking lot off of Pinelake Road is for STAFF ONLY
    • Stopping, standing, or parking is NOT allowed on Pinelake Road between the staff parking lot and Maple Grove Drive
  • The driveway between Pinelake Road and Rockstream Drive is for bus, daycare vans, and cabs ONLY. No drop-off or pick-up is allowed here
  • Maple Grove Drive has both parking and drop off/pick up zones. Review street signs carefully
  • Rockstream Drive has both parking and NO stopping/standing zones. Review street signs carefully
  • Families can pick up through the loop parking lot on Rockstream Drive

The map below details the parking zones:

  • Green = parking allowed
  • Yellow = Pick up/drop off only, You must stay in your car
  • Red = NO stopping, standing, or parking
